for me it is mario sunshine. mario 64 too, though i played it on wii virtual console - i was once sick for almost 2 weeks, and i would play it all day long.

I played the 2nd game and I liked it a lot. It was fun to have 2d and 3d levels.Yoshi is the best addition and his items allowed for some cool levels.

The challenge was high enough for young little me to take over a year to complete it 100%. Still my favorite Mario game.

The galaxy games were past my time, but not by much. Super mario 64 on the N64 and then Sunshine on GC were mine, and yes, the music in both of those games I regularly listen to. Video game music has become a really big part of my audio library.

Either way, we can all relate to the fact that Nintendo makes wonderfully memorable games with levity and a great ability to make you want to lose yourself in them for a time.
