let's talk about jazz.

these days i mostly listen to '60s avant-garde & spiritual jazz, but i just started reading "Footprints", the biography on Wayne Shorter, and I've been rediscovering his discography while I read through it. He's quickly becoming one of my favorite personalities in jazz.

The Complete Legendary Session with Chet Baker is probably one of my favorite (western) albums, I recommend it.

Some of my favorites from this album: Alone Together, Tis' Autumn, Show Me, hank Heaven for Little Girls.

I listen a lot of jazz, but mostly Japanese albums and arrangements, I recently have been re-discovering one of my first albums, probably the one that got me into the jazz, Blue Train by John Coltrane, and also Kind of Blue by Miles Davis.

I was considering to make this thread when /mew/ was created, but I wasn't sure if there was people here who likes Jazz and Blues, I'm glad you did it.

Bill Evans is TOO good. His chord voicings kill me, always feel fresh. "Undercurrent" is one of my fav jazz records of all time, the way he and Jim Hall bounce around one another makes me smile uncontrollably.

Sure why not, they are mostly Anime/Video games arrangements and OST, so you might be disappointed.

This one is very popular: Ryo Fukui - Scenery 1976 (Not really anime/videogame related)

I've recently been listening to modern jazz guitarists like Rosenwinkel, Ben Monder and Peter Bernstein. What others do you recommend I listen to? (Especially if they are Japanese)
