What are some good, long songs? I know I enjoy spacing out to songs that build and progress over a long time while I'm working. Whether it's an album with seamless transitions or just a long-ass song, I want to hear what your favorites are.

I feel like the 3 minutes and change for a track and then on to a brand new song can get a bit jarring and distracting sometimes

I know Pink Floyd and King Crimson are good bands for that, and I like X Japan's 'Art of Life' and Dire Straits 'Telegraph Road' as other examples of longer songs I like

My personal favorite genre, and I even compose some tracks in it, though as a whole chiptune is super niche. Even more so if you exclude like old retro songs that people listen to for nostalgia.

oh no I didn't make that, I was correcting my typo, ill post the music i made in the thread for it in here, sorry for any confusion

Wait you made this? I've had this favorited for a long time now.

I wish I did, but I did not, was correcting a typo.

(I think I'm being messed with at this point)

Didn't think I'd ever be posting on any music boards, but here I am.

Please check out Chroma:

If you like his stuff, he has his own website with free downloads to his older releases.

What are some of your favorite video game intro themes? I'd have to say Killer Instinct is definitely in my top list.

Yes, that counts. I love playing Duke Nukem 3D.

I can't wait for the remastered versions of Shenmue 1 & 2, then finally getting my hands on Shenmue 3 once it comes out.

this is very oddly specific for so many replies lol

Anyone here listen to a musicial called Dreamcrusher? Considering this is dreamchan I figured that it'd be fair to share them but theyre not very sleepy or calm. They're a noise musician who sounds just as agressive as their name suggests. I've fallen in love with their music tho and I emotionally require everyone to give it a listen at some point

Pretty simple, a thread for discussion of dream-pop/shoegaze. Be sure to post your favourite albums and tracks!

Great song, great record. I remember feeling a lot listening to this one for the first time.

Truly a classic. Speaking of which, that one got me into the genre in the first place
Happy New Year!

Thank you, happy new year! It really is. I remember the day I finally found Treasure at a second hand record store, it was quite the gift.
This song doesn’t really fit in woth dream pop, but it’s very ethereal and snoozy, I hope you like it anon.

hi anon, not bad.

sweet sweet validation

Hey, anon ! I would reply earlier, but I've been quite busy with school and stuff so I just wasn't on dreamchan. Good to see that y'all got this far ! Once again, love it. "Angel with a Broken Wing" is a great instrumental song. Makes me feel nostalgic and kinda-sad-but-kinda-happy. Do y'all have a bandcamp ? I'd love to give you a few bucks when I have some.

hey thats alright! Im really glad you liked it, we worked hard on it. We do have a bandcamp, but it's just got the singles on it and money isnt such a big deal to us. exposure and feedback are the only things that really matter cause pretty much everyone gets their music for free these days anyways. Thanks for listening!

And if anyone else has got trax drop em

I assume anons that would come to this site must like ambience in music, too? Nothing beats shutting your eyes and getting lost in ethereal soundscapes, and temporarily escaping from the world into a place where time doesn't exist.

This is one of the last places i expected to see submachine pop up. Those are some nice games

idk what it is about op's song but it makes me soooo happy

Yo what’s this album called?

Late 80s-early 90s acid house thread. Stuff like Madchester is fine too.

reminds me of this, but im pretty sure this isnt acid house

I don't have anything to contribute but that's a jamming track, I'll have to look into this genre.

Last one was more just in-general 80s house but this one is actually more acid-related.

Death Grips is a great band. Am listening to them right now.

It was The Money Store.

Now I'm listening to Fashion Week!

I think Death Grips are one of the best things in music right now, if not the best. But now it's sleepy time, so I'll elaborate later :^)
