dreamchan.net uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate expired on Friday, 17 February, 2017 18:59. The current time is Wednesday, 22 February, 2017 23:41.
Error code: SEC_ERROR_EXPIRED_CERTIFICATE

Thanks. Working on this, should be https everywhere within the next day.

Awesome. I like optional HTTPS myself, despite always choosing to use HTTPS. Just fixing the cert would be cool.
Also, do you ever go to the IRC channel, yourself? I only found dreamchan two days ago. Sorry for lurking a little instead of lurking a lot!

Everything should be all good by tomorrow morning at the latest.

Just as a heads up, I will ensure that every link within the site goes to https, but no 301 redirect will be in place forcing you to use it. Perhaps a small button in the bottom menu of the site will allow you to browse over http if you have it enabled. (It'll issue you a cookie or place something in your local storage most likely)

Unfortunately, my free time these days is extremely limited :( Not as much time available for me to spend in irc as there used to be. I'll try to hang out this weekend though.

Thanks friend!

Awesome. Thanks so much for understanding that this choice is important.
This is an anecdote, but sometimes I read imageboards on, but not post from, my 3DS. Its browser doesn't recognise many certs, so while when on my computer, as I usually am, I use HTTPS all the time, it's nice to know HTTP is still available.

Ahh, I sadly have known that feeling about free time. Ganbatte, Duck.

*sigh* this is what I get for going with a deluxe cert. Should have just used Let's Encrypt, everything would have been in place by now. Hopefully we're good again by this afternoon.

I'll reply to this thread when it's up!

Jesus lol fuck this cert authority. I'll be getting my money back and going with an open authority. Sorry everyone ;(

Good luck!
A lot of people I know use letsencrypt now, but most people have noticed the hypocrisy of letsencrypt: they give themselves certain certs that they don't give out to users.

This actually is pretty ironic.

That's kinda by definition. CAcert works by signing their own certs, and most browsers hate that. My usenet provider uses them.
