Let's have an ongoing thread to talk about the things we cook up.

I'm about to head to the store, going to make some jalapeno mashed potatoes to go with a new york strip. Some asparagus too.

My favorite way to make mashed potatoes is to use evaporated milk instead of fresh milk, I love the distinct taste it gives it. Anyone else cooking tonight?

I'm going away for a few weeks next Monday so I'm trying to eek out all the food I have over the next four days. Lots of meals based around potatoes and bread it seems.

I have actually never heard of this but they look real good, basically the same as a gratin?
I have a really nice recipe for that, you parboil the potatoes and finely chop some spinach, layer them up in a dish and pour milk and seasonings over it, it's ruddy nice.

Tonight I'm making potato tacos:

Mashed potatoes (potatoes, milk, sour cream, mayo) fried in a corn tortilla, topped with a lettuce and cucumber garnish (soaked in lemon juice), pickled onion, jalapeno, and queso fresco :3
